The Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM), administered by the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal, is a premier state-funded financial assistance program designed to support meritorious students from economically weaker sections pursuing higher secondary, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies. SVMCM Scholarship 2026–27: Eligibility Criteria General Requirements Domicile: The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. Enrollment: WBBSE, WBCHSE, WBSCT&VE&SD, or recognized State/Central Universities. Single Scholarship Rule: A recipient cannot draw another government merit-cum-means scholarship for the same course of study simultaneously. First Attempt: The previous qualifying examination must have been cleared in the regular/first attempt.

SVMCM Scholarship : Documents required when applying

• Marksheet of Last Qualifying Exam: Both sides of the qualifying marksheet.
• Admission Receipt: Current academic session fee slip or admission challan.
• Income Certificate: BDO, SDO, Joint BDO, or Executive Officer of Municipality/Corporation.
• Income Affidavit (Annexure-I): Notarized affidavit (if applicable).
• Bank Passbook Copy: First page scan.
• Domicile Proof: Valid state domicile certificate or official government photo identity card.
• Photographs & Signature
• Previous Year Clearance Marksheets: (Mandatory for Renewal candidates) Marksheets of 1st & 2nd semesters (for 2nd year) or 3rd & 4th semesters (for 3rd year).

How to Apply Online For SVMCM Scholarship 2026–27

For Fresh Applicants

• For a first-time application, you need to visit the official SVMCM website.
• After that, click on ‘Registration’ and complete the process by submitting your documents.
• Fill in basic details, qualifying examination credentials, mobile number, and email ID.
• Submit the registration form to generate a 15-character Applicant ID and password.
• Log in via Applicant Login using your Applicant ID and Password.
• Complete your personal, contact, family income, and bank account information.
• Please upload the required documents—such as photographs, signatures, and scanned copies of mandatory supporting documents—in the specified format.
• Verify all information carefully and click Submit Application.
• Download and print the acknowledgment slip for reference and institutional verification.

For Renewal Applicants

• First, you need to visit the official website and log in using your ID and password from the previous year.
• Next, you need to click on the ‘Renewal Application’ in your dashboard.
• Update details of promotion to the next academic year/semester and enter recent examination marks.
• Upload the latest admission receipt and promotional semester marksheets.
• After that, you need to verify all the information and submit your application.
• You need to download the application form and submit it to your institute for the next steps.
