The OASIS Scholarship (Online Application for Scholarships in Studies) is an educational financial assistance scheme run by the Backward Classes Welfare Department and Tribal Development Department, Government of West Bengal. WB Oasis Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Domicile & Category
The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
Must belong to a recognized SC, ST or OBC category and possess a valid community certificate issued by a competent authority in West Bengal.
Educational Qualification
Pre-Matric Scholarship: Students regularly enrolled in Class 9 or Class 10.
Post-Matric Scholarship: Students studying in Class 11, Class 12, ITI, Polytechnic/Diploma, Undergraduate (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech, MBBS), Postgraduate, M.Phil or Ph.D. programs.
Family Income
SC / ST Students (Pre-Matric & Post-Matric): Annual family income from all sources must not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/-.
OBC Students (Post-Matric): Annual family income must not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-.
Mandatory OTR
Students from all categories must OTR on the National Scholarship Portal.

Recent passport-size photograph.
Valid West Bengal SC / ST / OBC Certificate with certificate number and issue date.
Marksheet of the last qualifying examination.
Valid Income Certificate (issued by BDO, SDO or Executive Officer).
Copy of bank passbook with active DBT seeding.
Valid identity proof.
Current session admission receipt / Institutional Bonafide Certificate.

How to Apply For West Bengal Oasis Scholarship 2026–27
Fresh Applicants:
Visit the official portal: oasis.gov.in.
Click on Student’s Registration under the Students Corner.
Select the district where your school/college is located (not your home district).
Enter your Caste Certificate Number and Issuing Date, then click Submit to verify.
Enter your NSP OTR reference number.
Complete personal, academic and bank account information.
Upload scanned copies of your photograph and income certificate.
Review the form, verify all details and click Verify and Lock Application.
Download the generated 3-page application form, print it, sign it and submit it along with supporting documents to your institution.
Renewal Applicants:
Visit oasis.gov.in and select Renew Scholarship.
Choose your institution’s district and log in using your Application ID / User ID, password and session 2026–27.
Update your current class/semester, attendance and promotion details.
Confirm bank details, submit and lock the renewal form.

Q1. Can general category or minority students apply on the OASIS portal?
No. OASIS is reserved exclusively for SC, ST, and OBC students of West Bengal. Minority students should apply via the WBMDFC Aikyashree Portal, and general category meritorious students can apply for the SVMCM scholarship.
Q2. Can I make changes after clicking “Verify & Lock”?
No. Once an application is locked, no details can be edited online. You must verify all spelling, bank credentials, and academic entries beforehand.
Q3. Is Aadhaar-bank account linking mandatory for disbursement?
Yes. Scholarship amounts are transferred exclusively via DBT through the NPCI mapper into a bank account linked to an official identity. Accounts without active DBT status will fail to receive the funds.
